【全塗装その２５】ラスト１色＆クリアー 問題編

先日の筆塗りでのタッチアップは半分失敗だった・・・
盛った塗料の凹凸が大きく、研ぎだしに相当神経を使う＆時間がかかるです。
一カ所、研ぎだし失敗でまたホワイト出しちゃった…

結局そこはお風呂場プシューでリカバーしたさ。
まぁ一カ所ならマスキングも楽だけど、研ぎだしの手間を考えたら地道にスプレーで補修した方が良かったんじゃないのか？なんて思ったり。

で、やっと全ての補修が完了。

やっとあと１色＋クリアー。
クリアは全面ウレタンクリアーにすることにした。
当初、カウルはお手軽にアクリルラッカークリアーにしようかと悩んだが、せっかくここまでやったんだからウレタンでテロテロツヤツヤにしよう。

ただし問題がいくつもある・・・。

まずは、クリアーの問題

  1. 値段
    ウレタンクリアーの定番と言えばイサムのエアーウレタン。
    安くても１本1700円〜1800円位(ヤフオク送料計)、ホワイトで使ったスプレーの量から考えると、少なくとも10本は要りそう。
    予備も考えて12本とすると、21600円、結構高い。
    ホムセンだと2600円/１本もするんだぜ・・・
  2. ホコリ
    カラーであれば初期段階に入った小さなホコリは強引に塗料で隠すことができた。
    しかし、クリアーでは初期段階に入ったホコリは隠せない。
    (表層のホコリはカラー同様に軽く水研ぎで取り除ける)
    ウレタンクリアは乾燥後に重ね塗りができないので、でかいハプニングがあったら補修が効かないのも不安材料。
  3. 乾燥
    ウレタンクリアーの初期硬化時間は60分、ただしこれは指で軽く触れても大丈夫な硬度であって、強く押したりすると凹む。
    ブルーシート塗装場所では、一つ塗るごとに60分待機という不効率な作業になってしまう。
    待ち時間だけでも4〜5時間はいるなwそして、完全硬化までの78時間は安静にしておかなければいけない。
    オイラの狭い部屋のどこに78時間も安置できる場所があるのかとw
    今は天井から吊って保管してるけど、それをやると吊ってる部分が間違いなく凹む。
  4. 作業場所
    ブルーシートブースは狭いので、カウルやタンクは動かしながら塗らなければいけない。動かすときに大きなミスを犯してしまいそうで怖いw
    ウレタンは２液式なので、シンナー成分が飛んでも塗料は固まらずにそのまま飛散する。
    ブルーシートで囲っているとはいえ、駐車場では他の車にウレタンの粒を付着させてしまう可能性がある。
    (ラッカーなら飛散した塗料が車に付着する頃には、シンナーが揮発して粉状なので雨で奇麗に流される。)
    小さいパーツならまだしも、カウルはブルーシートじゃカバーしきれない。
    駐車場での作業は避けた方が良い、というかヤメとけ、という天の声。

とまぁ、クリアーだけでもこんなに課題があるんだな・・・。

残り1色の問題

  1. 色が無いw
    これは以前にも書いたが、イメージしている色がSOFT99のボデーペンにはない。というか、車やバイクにはまず使われない色。
    汎用品のアクリルラッカーには似た色はあるが、
    同じアクリルラッカーとはいえ、違うメーカーや違う商品を重ね塗りするとトラブルになることがまれにあるらしい。
    そもそも、今回は「SOFT99で塗らなければいけない」というある理由からくる縛りがあるので他のスプレーは使えない。

以上が問題点、こいつらを一発でなんとかしよう、解決編は明日にでも。
